Oct 10, One of the more confusing project is how to remove bushings on the GM A-Body and G-Body platforms is the rear axle housing bushing. We use a set of all thread, washers, and nuts to make a DIY bushing removal tool, this also works for replacing bushings as well.

The left axle pinion gear is worn, tapering from"like new" on the mower deck side to about 18" removed on the wheel side.
The taper starts about half way across the surface that meshes to the wheel gear.
